V4 Set up

In this section, you are able to choose which features you wish to use or disable. The choice is yours. You will also need to fill in a few boxes to enable email messages to be sent to the correct address. All your drop down boxes will default to yes. All you have to do is leave them as they are, or change them to no. If you do not intend to use, for example, the video tab, you should change it to “no”.

Show Sub Categories on Menu

Choose yes if you want your sub categories to show directly under the relevant top category on your home page. If you don’t want the sub categories to be seen in this menu, choose no.

Show new products

Choose yes to show a selection of new products on your home page. These products will change every time you add new products.

Show featured products

Choose yes to show a selection of featured products on your home page. If you choose yes, don’t forget to make some of your products featured, when you start to generate your listings. If you do not want to showcase any specific products, choose no.

Show scrolling products

This refers to the scrolling section on the right hand side. If you want to use this feature, choose yes and a random selection will be show here.. If you do not want to use this feature, choose no.

Number of products to a page

This defaults to 20 products per page. You can change this if you wish.

TAB  Specification

If you intend to include specifications for your products, choose yes. Remember to complete the specifications for each product. If you do not need this choose no.

TAB  Videos

If you intend to include video footage, choose yes, but remember to complete this section when you generate your listing. If you do not intend to include videos, choose no.

TAB  Reviews

This is a section where your customers can leave a comment if they wish – particularly helpful for other customers if they want to see what other customers think. If you do not want people to be able to leave comments, choose no. (your reviews need to be approved before they appear on the site)

TAB  similar products

An excellent way of cross promoting other similar products, or you can use it to offer add-ons. i.e., if you sell writing paper, you could promote envelopes in this section. We strongly advise you to use this section to it’s fullest extent – choose no if you do not require it.

Show priority links

This refers to the links at the very top of your web pages. The home page link cannot be removed. You can add or remove any links you require and this section is managed in the priority links section of your admin section. We suggest that you leave this defaulted to yes.

Show blog in priority links

Choose yes or no. If you choose yes, please make sure there is actually something written in your blog for people to read. You can switch this to no, until you have the opportunity to write something if you wish. Once you have started your blog, switch this back to yes.

Require log in to see prices

Most retail sites do not require a log in to see prices. However, trade sites will often take steps to ensure that only trade customers can see the prices. Choose NO unless you are a wholesaler or trade only site. Please note: This section defaults to yes, so you must change it to enable any potential customer to buy your products.

Show brands

If you sell branded goods and you intend to use the brand management section, you should choose yes. If your products are un-branded we suggest you choose no.

My website address

Following the example shown, insert your full website address in this box.

My email address

Insert your email address in this box i.e., info@mywebsitename.co.uk. Please ensure that your email address is a current working address.

Email address the website sends from

Your contact form requires an address to send an email from.  This is usually website@mywebsitename.co.uk

Newsletter box sign up form

You’ll want to encourage customers to sign up for your regular newsletter. Use this box for your message i.e., Sign up to receive new product alerts and details of special offers!

Tidycart.co.uk ID

Your TidyV4 system integrates with the online cart system TidyCart.  When your site is set up the TidyV4 team will set an account up for you giving you a unique TidyCart ID.  This does not need to be altered.

Google products file

Google Products (froogle) is currently integrated within your site. This is the name of the file that is created  We set this up for you so that Google Base automatically gets your products on a weekly basis.
 

Custom Meta tags

Custom meta tags can be used and feature between the <head> </head> of your website.  Regular users need not alter what is placed here, but more advanced users that wish to use a service like Google Webmasters Tools (we set the site up on our account), can place their verification code in here.

Statistics Code

We use this area to input your statcounter code.  Advanced users may wish to place Google Analytics coding here, or another alternative tracking system. The code will be inputted before the </body> tag.
